Where are we going and how did I get in this handbasket?

Taking a summer "off" from being frugal can feel freeing and be a good thing.

It can also set you up for a hard few months as you work to fix everything you did wrong as well as relearn the good habits you once had.

Can you guess what is happening to me now? So today is an overhaul, tomorrow is a new day and each day we will work to be better than the one before it. It's amazing what can be undone after only a few months. The checking account can be a scary place when you take time off from balancing it. I feel so stupid, but I do know that at least we're able to manage. We have to cut back the "treats" (which is easier now since school is starting and we won't have free time to spend money) and start saving again.

How do you bounce back after breaking the rules?
