Johnsonville Review + Giveaway

Have you tried the new Johnsonville Chicken Sausages? I got to try them free from Houseparty, and added them to the menu this week. I am always looking for something easy to throw together and when I saw the Three Cheese Italian Style Chicken Sausage and Broccoli Rigatoni, I knew that I had to try it.

Ingredients:

12 oz. uncooked rigatoni (I subbed Penne)

3 cups fresh broccoli florets (I used frozen)

1 medium red bell pepper, chopped(I used frozen)

1 pkg. Johnsonville® Three Cheese Italian Style Chicken Sausage, sliced

1/2 cup Italian dressing

 

Grated Romano or Parmesan cheese

To make:

Cook rigatoni according to package directions in a large saucepan; add broccoli during the last 3 minutes of cooking time.

In a large skillet, combine sausage, red bell pepper and Italian dressing; cook over medium heat until heated through.

Drain pasta and broccoli; transfer to a large bowl.

Add sausage mixture; toss to combine.

Sprinkle with cheese. 

 I think it turned out pretty well. I overcooked the pasta because I had to run outside and get the kids, so it made it a little less yummy, but before that happened, it smelled amazing. I will be trying this again, without distractions, so that I can give it a better shot. I also think that the amount of pasta may be a little too much (though that could have been from overcooking it).
