Frugal Finds- Kroger 7/21

Photobucket
Today I went to Kroger with a goal. To use my coupons and try to spend only the cash I had on me. I had planned on going by the bank to take out $20 but didn’t and only had $15 on me. I had planned 3 different transactions because Kroger was doing a Mega Event that would take $5 off your order if you bought 10 participating products. Rather than get all the items on my list and only get $5 off, doing it separately saved $15. This takes a little more planning and time but was well worth it. The $5 takes 50 cents off the price of each of the participating items.

This is my grand total from all 3 transactions. I got a couple more things than I had originally planned and had to change my plans around a bit due to different products being available.
Grand Total out of pocket: $19.28 Total Saved due to sales and coupons $69.74
So I did not stay within my $15 limit, but had I brought the $20 I had originally planned on doing I would have been well within that budget 

Transaction 1
5 Philadelphia Cream Cheese $1.49 x 5 = $7.45
Soft Soap $1.50 [I used 1 $0.50/1 coupon that doubled to $1]
4 Spaghetti-Os $0.99 x 4 = $3.96 [I used 2 $0.50/2 coupons that doubled to $1]
Total = $12.91
- $5 Mega Event
- $1 Soft Soap
-$1 Spaghetti-Os
-$1 Spaghetti-Os
Total Out of Pocket $4.92 [For some reason I was charged $4.91]
Received a $5.00 off coupon for my next order

I received the Cheese, Soap and Spaghetti-Os for free after coupons (counting the $5 Catalina I received). I was actually paid $0.09 to do this transaction.

I also bought 3 boxes of fruit snacks because my kids picked that as their treat for being so good while I did these multiple transactions. They were $1 each, so $3.00 – the 0.65 coupon I had for buying three adding $2.35 to my total making it $5.46.

Free Items after Mega Event Sale, Coupons, and Catalina Coupons:
10 Philadelphia Cream Cheese [.99 x 10 = $9.90; Received 2 $5 coupons, so $10 – 9.90 = $0.10. I was technically paid 10 cents to get the cheese]
4 Spaghetti-Os [.49 x 4 = $1.96; Used 2 $0.50/2 coupons doubling to $1/2, so $2.00 - $1.96 = $0.04. I was technically paid 4 cents to get the Spaghetti-Os]
2 Soft Soaps[1.00 x 2 = $2; Used 2 $0.50/1 coupons doubling to $2/2, so $2 – 2 = $0.]
Tombstone Pizza [$1.99; Used a $2/1 coupon, so $2 – 1.99 = $0.01. I was technically paid 1 cent to get the pizza]
Suave Conditioner [$1.99; Used a Free coupon that rang up as $3.00 off, so $3.00 – 1.99 = $1.01. I was technically paid $1.01 to get the Conditioner]

Had I kept to my lists and not purchased the additional items my total would have been $10.92, but I still feel like I did really well to get all this for under $20!
